Roger Selden
Born 1945 in New York. Works as an artist in Milan
Roger Selden’s love of art started early. At the age of 12 he had already begun to study and copy old masters in the nearby Brooklyn Museum. Thus he had already had years of experience before he started at the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. By 1966 he had completed his studies in Philadelphia and moved on to spend two years at the Tyler School in Rome. Study trips to Paris and throughout Italy followed, before Selden finally settled in Milan. Today, he has his studio in Milan and produces paintings which are exhibited in galleries in all the major European art cities: Cologne, Paris, London, Madrid, and at the art fairs in Cologne and Basel. His paintings captivate viewers with their positiveness, colourfulness and their use of symbols and signs which are accessible to a wide public. Selden uses a mixed technic, partly collage, partly decisive strokes of color.
